I am writing a treatise in Latex and would like to create a table showing the results.

The template of the treatise is in two columns, but the table inevitably extends beyond the columns.
Furthermore, the number of characters in the second column of the column is too large to handle by setting the width of the table.

(The area surrounded by red is the boundary of the steps.)

I want to somehow put this table in an easy-to-read layout.
I'm thinking of making only the table a single column (display that spans two columns), but I don't know how to change the table code or the template.

Thank you.

Corresponding source code
\ begin {table} [htb]
\ caption {The Result}
\ begin {tabular} {| p {3em} | p {3em} | p {3em} | p {3em} | p {3em} | p {3em} | p {3em} |} \ hline
      Algorithm&The number of nodes in hidden layers&Accuracy&Precision&Recall&F1-score&PR-AUC \\ \ hline \ hline
...
  \ end {tabular}
  \ label {table2}
\ end {table}
What I tried

I tried setting the width of the column, but it didn't fit even if I narrowed the column to near the limit.

    Page-wide table in two-column mode

    table *How about in the environment?

    \ Begin {table *} [htb]
    \ Centering
    \ Caption {The Result}
    \ Begin {tabular} {| p {3em} | p {3em} | p {3em} | p {3em} | p {3em} | p {3em} | p {3em} |} \ hline
          Algorithm&The number of nodes in hidden layers&Accuracy&Precision&Recall&F1-score&PR-AUC \\\ hline \ hline
    ...
      \ End {tabular}
      \ Label {table2}
